Secure Mobile Data

Overview

Golden Orb enables it’s client’s to implement a wide variety of mobile data solutions safe in the knowledge that their data is managed in a secure and cost effective manner.

Data-only Sim’s can be provided in a number of formats for projects of any size running across a national 3G network.  This allows the transfer of almost any type of data (including streamed video) between the mobile devices and a central server through Golden Orb’s secure (UK Restricted) network. With minimal monthly charges and data costs as low as a few pence per Mb, Golden Orb provides an extremely cost effective service. Data charges are billed as a total across all deployed SIM’s, not on an individual basis to further reduce overall costs and increase flexibility.

Layer 2 Tunnelling Protocol (L2TP) and IPSec offer a secure VPN solution which allows your data to pass encrypted across pre-determined data paths.

We assign your data allocation across blocks of SIMs, meaning that you can be more confident of your network costs. And we alert you if you’re reaching your allocation, or if a network component suddenly starts behaving very differently. That way, you can be confident in what’s happening in your M2M network.

We take handling your data very seriously and provide a range of features to ensure that data from your mobile devices is routed rapidly and securely to it’s destination via our secured network managed by vetted staff.

• L2TP – With Layer 2 Transport Protocol, you have absolute certainty of the network path which your data will take. Adding IPSEC to provide a VPN ensures that you know where your data is, and that it will get there securely.
• SIM sizes – Different devices require different SIMs, and whether you need full size, standard or micro/3FF, we have the right SIM for your needs.
• Flexible data packages – Why should you use all your data allocation on one SIM when all the others have hardly been touched ? We look at your needs as a solution, not a collection of SIMs.
• Data Limit Alerts – You want to know when a SIM is suddenly using twice as much data, or when you’re about to reach your data allocation. We can text, email or call when your system is about to reach a threshold so you have greater confidence in your costs and more control over your data.

Technical Specifications

Golden Orb operates it’s own private fixed and mobile voice/data network from multiple secure data centres across the UK.

Each Golden Orb SIM is individually authenticated into our secure data network and the data is tunnelled over a secure L2TP/IPsec protected link directly into our secure hosting service or another location, typically at the client’s site.

The performance of our data network is constantly monitored and managed by staff who are all security cleared. Evaluation Assurance Levels (EAL’s) can be confirmed prior to transmission of information for absolute confidence where required.
