Golden Orb produce white-paper on combating telephony based user ID fraud
Following approaches from several UK based financial institutions, Golden Orb has been addressing the growing problem where their customer contact centre phone systems are being compromised by fraudsters and hackers.
In addition to attacking and compromising the main phone switches themselves, fraudsters are increasingly re-directing calls from a bank, card provider, insurance company, or other financial institution to their own phones in various ways, particularly when answering queries on suspect transactions or conducting phone based banking or payments.
As a secure Tier One private phone network with both national and international links, Golden Orb is able to discretely monitor calls being placed to and from financial institutions phone systems, tracking their true location, route used and numbers called using SS7 signalling protocols unavailable to other fraud prevention companies.
In addition, we have developed a series of authentication processes using a separate channel outside of the actual call-path being used to validate that the intended recipients phone is not being redirected or forwarded elsewhere without the callers knowledge.
